Octagon donates to Erasmus MC

2020 was the year of helping each other. As the coronavirus continues well into 2021, it’s more important than ever to support each other, and our community, throughout these difficult times. We closed off 2020 by donating €1500 to the Erasmus MC for research on the coronavirus and moving into 2021 by supporting their fundraising initiative.

Although Octagon Professionals is a commercial organisation, we strive to give back to the community that supports us whenever we can. Giving back to the people, society, and supporting organisations who are trying to make a difference in the world — this is what matters most.

We have supported several initiatives and projects throughout the years to help us achieve this goal. This year, we decided to support Erasmus MC and join their campaign to “Stop the Coronavirus”.

We donated €1500 today and launched a fundraiser page to ask our network to support Erasmus MC in this incredibly important research.

Erasmus MC Research

In the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam groundbreaking research takes place in order to defeat the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. This includes the search for an effective drug for patients suffering from COVID-19 and the development of a vaccine to stop this outbreak and prevent a new one in the near future. Our donation is going towards a project studying the antibodies in patients in order to develop a drug that can treat patients seriously suffering from COVID-19.

How you can help

Moving into 2021, there’s a lot of reasons to be optimistic that the coronavirus will soon become a thing of the past. But the fight’s not over yet. Erasmus MC is still conducting research on the most effective treatments for COVID-19 and the new variant, and they need funds to properly equip the front-line workers who battle the virus every day.
